Effect of Leaf Order and Position on Bulblet Formation in Leaf Cutting of Muscari armeniacum ´ Early ´ Giant

Abstract

|
This research was conducted to investigate the effect of leaf order and position on bulblet formation in leaf cutting of Muscari armeniacum ´Early Giant´. In the leaf position, the forming capacity of bulblet was higher in middle leaf than inner or outer leaf. As increment length of etiolated-proximal part, the number and weight of bulblet was increased. Considering the number and weight of bulblets, one-third of lower leaf segments including proximal part was the better source than middle segment. And, in leaf cutting with one-third of distal part, all the cuttings were dead.
